Lashing is an amazing career! You get to spend time being creative and helping women feel beautiful. And you can set your own schedule. But, like any new business, it takes a lot of hustle to build a successful lash extension business.
In this blog, we will share six tips to help you get more lash extension clients and grow your business.
1. Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe
When creating your space, try to keep your client in mind. What do they want to see? How do they want to feel? Create a vibe that attracts the kind of lash clientele you want to serve.
Getting eyelash extensions can be very relaxing, but it can also leave clients feeling vulnerable. They are lying there for extended periods of time and have to keep their eyes closed, which can make them feel exposed. So, create a space that is inviting, comfortable, and relaxing. Here are some ideas:
- Play soft music
- Use calming scents
- Have a cozy bed with blankets
The important thing is to make sure your client feels safe and comfortable throughout the entire process.
Take time to connect with your client. Your loyal clients will often keep coming back to see you because they connect with you as a person. Ask them about their day, listen to what they say, and really engage with them.
Create a positive experience that will make them want to come back and tell their friends about you.
And here's a bonus tip: Don't be texting when you should be lashing! 📵 Of course, there might be instances where you need to respond or send a quick message. But don't make a habit of leaving your client lying there while you're on your phone. Remember, they are paying you for your time.
2. Referral Program
Word-of-mouth referrals are one of the most powerful marketing tools in the beauty industry. So, don't hesitate to offer incentives for happy clients who refer new customers to you.
You could offer a discount on their next service or even a free add-on treatment. It's a great way to say thank you for choosing me as your lash tech! 🙏🏻
3. Network
Make sure everyone you know is aware of your lash business. This includes family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. You never know who might need lash services or who has a friend or family member looking for a lash technician.
Get some professional business cards made, and always have them on hand to give out when someone expresses interest in your work. Include all your contact information and social media profiles on the card.
Attend events in your community and network with other beauty professionals. You can also collaborate with nail salons or other businesses that cater to similar clientele, such as hair salons or makeup artists.
Communicate with and get to know other lash artists. While they may be your "competition," they can also become great friends and referral sources. They might be willing to refer clients to you if they are fully booked or going on vacation and vice versa.
4. Use Social Media
Don't underestimate the power of social media. Connect with potential lash clients and other lash techs on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
The beauty industry is filled with potential customers, so it's important to find your niche and gear your content towards that demographic. Do your research - get insight into what type of content is popular in your area and cater to that audience.
More followers don't necessarily equate to more clients. You want to find followers who can actually come and see you for your services. Use local hashtags (i.e., #YYClashes or #lashextensionscalgary) and engage with your followers by responding to comments and messages.
Focus on creating high-quality content that showcases your lash skills and personality.
Additionally, using paid social media advertising to target your ideal audience in your local area can be a cost-effective way to reach potential clients.
5. Online Reviews
When potential clients search for lash artists, they often look at reviews to help them decide. Having positive reviews will not only attract new clients but also build trust and credibility in your business.
Don't be afraid to ask for reviews directly from happy clients. You could even offer them a discount on their next service as a thank you for leaving a review.
6. Offer Special Deals
Everyone loves a good deal! Consider offering special discounts or promotions to attract new clients and keep current ones coming back.
You could offer a discount on the first visit for new clients or create a loyalty program (i.e., buy 5 fills, get the 6th one free). You can also offer seasonal promotions, such as discounted services during holidays or special events.
